Lightmatter develops photonic interconnect technology, notably the Passage platform, for linking processors in AI supercomputers.
Lightmatter merges photonics and computing to speed up AI infrastructure. Its flagship Passage platform includes the L200 for training-scale bandwidth of 32-64 Tbps, the L20 optics-integration product, and the M1000 reference platform, a rack-level 3D photonic interposer rated at 114 Tbps. A second product line, Guide, is a very-large-scale photonics light engine. The company is based at 250 Bryant Street in Mountain View, California, and its site states a $4.4 billion valuation in October 2024 and $850 million in total funding.
