AutoGen
AI Agents & Automation
Overview
AutoGen is a multi-agent conversation framework from Microsoft that provides conversational multi-agent abstractions for building applications where multiple AI agents communicate and collaborate. It serves as a predecessor project unified into Microsoft Agent Framework and provided simple single-agent and multi-agent abstractions. While AutoGen is now in maintenance mode with bug fixes and security patches rather than new features, it remains widely used and Microsoft recommends migration to Microsoft Agent Framework for new projects.
